    1. I just did the things I would have liked when I was in the industry. Everyone in the industry already knew what needed to be done, but they thought it was also borderline impossible and a horrendous pain to do. They were right on both accounts. It is incredibly difficult and a pain. But that’s why nobody else did it.

    2. Nothing “clicked” until I stopped asking

      “What should I make?”

      and started asking

“What problem keeps repeating in my life or work?”

The shift was realizing that ideas don’t come from thinking harder.

They come from noticing friction you’ve already learned to tolerate.

Once I focused on problems I’d personally pay to remove,

creating became obvious – and smaller.

omg i feel this so much! sometimes the breakthrough comes from solving a problem that bugs you personally rather than consuming more content. (sc: KateOfy)

    4. Find a poorly made product or poorly done service in your industry that is nevertheless making them a lot of money, usually due to lack of competition. Do what they do, but better.
