Hey everyone. Happy holidays to all, and i hope 2025 treated you well.
For me it was brutal, I lost my wife to cancer, then my job, and eventually my house.
I hit rock bottom and chose not to stay there.
I started freelancing in logo and brand identity design, my former job and what I’m really good at.
Today I landed my first client again. It was $500, but it felt like breathing.
I’m going all in now, but I can’t afford a website yet.
How can I sell myself properly without one?
Any advice would help.
Finally some happy ending to the year for me. Closed a five hundred deal today.

Tough year for you. Sorry to hear that.
Suggest you freelance for agencies so you won’t have to find your own work. At least for a while till you can build up some cash reserves.
Congrats on the win!
Question, why do you need a website at this stage? And if you do need it, why can’t you just create one with AI? There are so many tools.
I don’t think having a website is as important as having a portfolio/case studies to show to people (but I’d say a good social media presence is super important)
Create one with AI for now, and once you have budget, then get it made by a professional
I wish 2026 comes as exceptionally awesome to you… For website make a page on wix. Initially make a free page, nobody minds it. I am sure if you can sail through such a difficult 2025, then 2026 will take you to new heights. May god bless with you with successful 2026 ahead.
Honestly with everyone using AI for everything, it’d probably just help you stand out if you were a word-of-mouth only outfit. Lean into it, make it a thing you’re proud of. Be the Michael Westen of logo design. 🙂
Set up a Gumroads account and they will only take a small fee from each sale.
Just here to say congrats! Wish you all the best for 2026
