Long story short- a woman’s kid slammed her car door into my car in a parking lot and left a good sized dent on the side of my car. She initially gave me a fake insurance card but thankfully I took a picture of the plate and found out the car was insured by Geico. I filed a claim through Geico and have received zero updates, emails, phone calls etc from them. I added text messages between the driver and I (where she offered to pay only $100 towards damages when they were obviously more than that), and video evidence of a video she took at the scene of my car. I called Geico after a week of not hearing anything from them & they said she said that I hit her (which makes zero sense) so they claimed the driver was not at fault. I asked them if they saw all of the evidence I submitted and they said they’d escalate it to a different department. What are the odds that it will get reversed to pay out and fix my car!?

File with your insurance. You’re wasting time trying to go through hers. They will back her if she’s told them she was hit

It sounds like a word vs word denial. You’ll need proof of your version of events (video footage, independent witness) to counter what their insured said. It sounds like they might be moving the claim to a liability dispute team, but I’d get all the evidence you can to submit, even if it’s just photos of the damage to the car.

If you had know the damage is just $250 or so small, I would rather demand cash from the mom. Go to atm or something.
