Hey folks! I got my Massachusetts Auto appraisers license in august and ive been trying to land a job in the auto appraising field. I’ve applied to become an insurance adjuster for allstate, mapfre, geico, travelers, arbella, and all others but they always say that they are moving past my application or found another candidate. Ive also refined my resumebut nothing. I also been looking for bodyshops as well but its also been hard. Nobody wants a fresh auto appraiser with 0 experience but people in the field that ive talked to to try and get in the field, always say go the insrance route because they always are willing to train and hire but it isnt the case for me…can anybody give me some tips on how to land an appraiser job and finally start my career? Im 26 and i really dont have anything going for myself. College dropout as well. Getting my certificate in auto appraising is probably the most ive done for myself in terms of making a better life. But now im stuck… im really anxious to start my career and make something of myself. Any advice will be helpful! Thanks alot folks!

I recommend starting in a claims customer service type entry level role. There’s a lot of foundational stuff you should learn before going into appraising. There’s a lot of experienced people looking for jobs right now and even they are getting turned down. Don’t get discouraged, just start smaller.
