I am a small business woodworking contractor. I initially filed my business license as an LLC without understanding I would need a 100k LLC bond to operate in California. Restructuring my business as an s corp would save me having to purchase that bond every year.
My question is, what would be the easiest way to go about this? If I open a S Corp can I umbrella the LLC underneath that new S Corp or will I still face the same problem? If so, how do I easily reorganize my business to be S Corp only?
Any information and/or advice is greatly appreciated. I am definitely still learning.
