I was looking into alternatives to Bilt and Mesa after closing on a house recently and having a bit more recurring spend.

Came across Made Card while searching and noticed there were a couple threads about it here. From what I can tell, the main hook is earning mortgage points from card spend, but you need higher spend to really get meaningful value (which honestly feels more realistic than some of the other models I’ve seen).

I applied a few weeks ago and was approved pretty quickly with a $20k limit. Been using it since and so far it’s been great. App works, autopay worked, and redemptions seem straightforward.

It seems like the biggest upside is if you eventually use one of their mortgage partners –  otherwise the value looks closer to standard cash back depending on how you redeem.

Curious if anyone here has longer-term experience with it – especially around redemptions? Any gotchas, or features you like?

    1. Is this the horrible card that gives mortgage points only up to the amount of other spend you put on it? If so its not a mortgage card, its a “3x” home related purchases, “4x” essentials etc etc. All of which u could get more from other cards without the “mortgage” gimmick.

There is a reason mesa went under, actually getting points on mortgage is not lucrative for companies.

    2. There’s no gotchas because it’s thoroughly mediocre value

4x Gas and Groceries is ok, but you’d be much better off with an Amex BCP/BCE or the AAA card for most people

3x home improvement is pretty worthless. There are much better cards to abuse for this kind of thing.

The only decent thing here is 4x utilities but the US Bank Cash does it better

I comp it to Bilt 2.0 and Amex Blue Cash. It’s decent value. I use it only for gas and groceries and I have a massive mortgage so the marginal returns for me are non trivial.

YMMV. I use other cards for travel/dining. I dont currently have a card that gives me points for my mortgage so this is strictly better than anything else I have FOR THIS CATEGORY OF SPEND.

There don’t appear to be a lot of gotchas. It’s solid.
