Hello all,
I don’t know if this is the right subreddit but I hope you all can help me.
I own my mobile home but rent the land it is on, I am in a trailer park. I am on a month to month lease for the land.
I am planning a cross country move in 4 months and am wondering if in the case my trailer doesn’t sell, and I have to abandon it, will there be any negative impact to me in doing so? I have already rented and paid for an Airbnb for a couple months in my new state, and plan to rent an apartment once I find a job and neighborhood I like there. Since i’m month to month, if it doesn’t sell can I just give them a 30 day notice that I will be vacating?
TIA!

Yeah you should be fine giving 30 days notice for the lot rental, but check your lease just to be sure there’s no weird clauses about abandoning structures. The bigger issue might be if your state has laws about abandoned mobile homes – some places will come after you for removal costs even if you don’t own the land anymore
Yes. There would be issues around abandoning a trailer you own on someone else’s property. But you know that already.
Yes, the land owner can go after you for the cost to move or demolish the home as well as unpaid rent if you abandon it without some prior agreement
