Me and my bestfriend fell out I was kind to her not even on bad terms but she didn’t appreciate me ending our friendship. It’s been like three months since and she’s asked me to remove her off my car policy today as an added driver. She was originally added because I was a new driver and my insurance was £4000 a year without her. Considering she legally cannot check if she is an added driver on my policy should I just remove her and handle the payments or would you keep her until my policy renews in May. I only earn $2000 a month so that $100 is every penny counts. Also should I let her know or just not reply
My ex bestfriend asked me to remove her as an added driver my policy will increase by $100 a month

Just remove her and deal with this like an adult
Intentionally misrepresenting the drivers on your policy is fraud and illegal. Don’t.
Remove her and shop your insurance.
this is satire, right?
Your insurance is likely invalid if you’re misrepresenting the facts to get a lower rate. They can deny you coverage if they find out.
You ended the friendship, but you want to keep using her -against her explicit wishes- to reduce your insurance premium. No.
Your financial situation does not entitle you to use other people. “She can’t legally check” means you know it is sneaky.
Remove her, and not only tell her you have done so but show her documentation that it has been done.
You do know if she were to get into an accident in her own car it would make your rates skyrocket. Not sure where you live, but with our company if she were to get a DUI and you have her listed in your policy you might even get cancelled. There are reasons to not have people listed in your policy who don’t actually drive the car
Is there someone else you can add? I would shop around for new insurance or a different way to change your rate.
What? I wouldn’t keep her on if she isn’t driving your car. So short sighted. If she crashes another car not on your policy you can be held liable. Get her off.
That’s so crazy that the insurance policy premium would increase for just one driver but would be less for 2 drivers!!
The math actuaries are trying to say that a single, unattached male is a higher insurance risk than a couple, even though there should be no way (improbable) that 2 drivers, driving more miles in total would have a lower insurance risk than any one of the two drivers!
It seems another example of how discriminatory and biased (against single males) insurance companies are with their premiums!!
Using your ex-friend’s name against her will in order to commit insurance fraud is ill-advised. You should have considered budget and checked rates before purchasing a new car (and insurance) you can’t afford. Suck it up and pay for your choices.
Take a look at your character while you’re at it.
While I don’t feel bad for you whatsoever, having her on your policy will not affect anything and nothing will happen to you if you leave her on. All these comments about fraud are true but you’re not going to get prosecuted or arrested. The absolute worst that can happen is if she calls your company and reports it, they can pass the info to underwriters. The underwriters will investigate and remove her and charge you the correct rate.
