Given what has happened there the last time and the animus against the US. You are banking on the population being sold on money going to them to rebuild their country. That argument is there and actually could get done in an easy way. I doubt Trump and the admin is willing to actually do that or capable of at this point.
The energy companies have to ask themselves, even if they get in there and start, what is the long term security domestically in that country? And then, what are the next administration and the future ones willing to do to ensure they don’t experience what happened under Chavez? Are they willing to send in troops to defend the energy infrastructure? That’s a bet I wouldnt want to make….
