Hi.
I moved from my home some time ago, and had a trash collection service going. Since I'm not using it any more, ive tried asking them to stop my service, but i keep getting bills. When I call or text, it just goes to some guy's cell phone, and it's apparently ignored. Do I have options for forcing them to halt service, and is there any way to refute charges from after when I asked them to cease?

how are you being charged?
Dispute the charges with your bank/credit card company if they keep auto-charging you. Keep records of when you tried to cancel – texts, call logs, whatever. Most banks will side with you if you show you made good faith efforts to cancel
If it’s a legit company they probably have a website or business license you can look up to find better contact info
In my city the Department of Public Works and Utilities oversees the various trash companies. You might find out if your city/town has a similar set up and complain to the city department. Your city or state might also have a department of consumer affairs that accepts complaints on service companies. That’s another place to try.
