    How will US control of Venezuela’s oil industry impact global prices?

    Donald Trump has said the US will now control Venezuela’s oil industry, bringing in American companies to rebuild infrastructure and reverse declining production.

    Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world, and Trump has been clear that the commercial opportunity this represents for the US was a significant reason for the removal of the country’s president Nicolas Maduro.

    Sky’s business and economics correspondent Paul Kelso discusses how American involvement could affect global oil prices – and whether it will benefit Venezuela itself.

      American refineries are set to process heavy oil. If we don't get it from Canadia (yes I wrote Canadia) than we need it from a more controllable source.

      If Trump has put the VP of Venezuela in charge, it mean he recognizes Madura is Venezuela. Does Trump understand that. He may not because his team did not tell. So he make a big mistake, which may lead to release of Madura.

      Its funny how people want the US to put more pressure on Russia and when we do by cutting off their energy resources people get mad.

      With Venezuela oil in US hands we could drop the prices and basically RUIN Russia.

      It was always about oil. US extorted minerals out of Ukraine and more once a peace treaty is done. Greenland and Canada is about oil, minerals and lumber.

      This oil is thick as tar and stcky , it needs to be washed out with petroleum , gasolin ! It cost a fortune to produce this
      and then it needs cranking and refining ! Then the produced oil will be expensive ! It will cost too much and the investment
      will be shaky ! — Then come the timeframe – 10 years is not unrealistic % years will be highly optimistic!

      The so called oil experts lack enough knowledge in the oil field. Not a pun.
      Venezuela or Veneland had a maximum output of four (4) million b/d, during the democratic era.
      That means peanuts in the global markets.
      Will benefit only the American consummers and businessmen.
      Gas/petrol/gasoline may become cheaper, no more no less.
      Venezuelan oil is well suited for US gulf refineries, cheaper and nearer. Is a win-win for Americans.
      Thing is for some reasons, US Dem governments let wrong leaders rule the oil country. Fact. Hard facts.

      Didn’t Hugo Chavez falsify claims about the amount of proven oil reserves in Venezuela? Is the amount of proven oil reserves possibly exaggerated by as much as a third?
