I want to move about $500 of silver that I already doubled my money on into the makret. Maybe voo. With that being a fraction of my physical silver coins I think it’s a safe option. Let’s say I get a 20% return on the $500 in voo in 2026. Silver needs to hit about $93 to get the same returns. Right now I have $100 in the market and $4000 worth of silver coins. I think it’s more likely silver drops 20% then voo. Thoughts?

    1. Don’t bother selling anything really (unless they are bonds, and you need to raise USD, because of limited opportunity cost), just buy.

Because taxes, and the loss of upside.

But yes, absolutely, diversify and have exposure to VOO, maybe even Bonds, or Bitcoin, or Gold.

I would suggest keep that silver coin as is with you.

If you have some excess cash, invest in VOO.

      Let both grow together.

BTW: I bought one gold coin for $250 during 1997-1998 and holding still. I do not even think about selling unless I need some emergency cash.

Shifting some of your silver into stocks like VOO is a smart move. Silver is volatile, lacks dividends, and can be harder to liquidate, while VOO offers steady long-term growth and dividends. A 20% return in VOO is realistic, and reallocating $500 from silver could boost your portfolio without fully abandoning the hedge silver provides.
Strategy: Move a small portion (e.g., $500) into VOO to diversify and capture stock market growth. Consider adding other funds like VTI or QQQ for more exposure.

Personally I would just keep the silver and DCA into voo with a weekly buy. Just automate and forget it exists and you will do well on it.
