Hi all,
As I understand it, the total number of bitcoins is limited and only a fixed amount can ever be created. Given this fixed supply, how can Bitcoin still increase in value?
Given that question, what could be a realistic bitcoin price in let‘s say 5 years (and why you assume this)?
BTC – how can it become even more worth?

Supply and demand. If demand increases and supply stays the same, price must go up.
Bitcoin is priced in fiat. There is an infinite amount of fiat, it can be created quite easily. There is only 21 million Bitcoin.

Anything from 10k per BTC in a hypothetical worst case scenario(Anyone who suggests 0 is ignorant) to 10 million usd a BTC (If Bitcoin gets much more popular akin to 30-40% global adoption) . No one knows and don’t trust any predictions.
None of us knows the perfect time to invest or can predict the price . The intelligentsia of the market is the combined knowledge of all humans and algorithms which is more knowledge than anyone can have. Also bitcoin is so scarce that a single wealthy investor can significantly move the market in secret and unannounced.
Rather than trying to time the market , let time work for you.
**Time in the market will tend to beat timing the market**

Around 2-4 million BTC have been permanently lost or burnt. This means that you have around 15 million to 17 million BTC will be fought over in the next few years , but many Bitcoin users are long term hodlers so at least half of those BTC are trapped in their savings Thus you have a situation where 7-8 million BTC could potentially be purchased with ~3,194 Billionaires in the world and at least ~59.4 million millionaires. If even a small percentage of these wealthy investors wanted to hedge 1-5% of their portfolio in Bitcoin they couldn’t without dramatically increasing the value of Bitcoin. These days it is actually dangerous not to have at least 5% exposure to Bitcoin because it is an uncorrelated asset class and one needs a balanced portfolio. This is how scarce Bitcoin is.
Here are the adoption periods :
**Innovators** 0 – 2.5%
**Early Adopters** 2.5% – 16%
**Early Majority** 16% – 50%
**Late Majority** 50% – 84%
**Laggards** 84% – 100%
Right now Bitcoin has a mere 4 % global adoption thus in the very early stages of “Early Adopters”
Technically speaking since Bitcoin is disinflationary its possible for Bitcoin to continue to increase in value even with 0 new adoption , but if more than 4% of people start using Bitcoin this increases demand for a limited form of money thus making the price appreciate much faster.
Realistic speaking since Bitcoin is so valuable these days you should not expect massive 1000%-2000% bull markets anymore like in the past but I personally expect Bitcoin to outperform the SP500 equity market for at least 20-40 more years due to how early we all are
