Company is mandating corporate credit cards for travel spending as of the start of this year.
No real question or anything. Just sad. Had about $50,000 annual spend in travel expenses. I know not as much as many around these parts, but points usually covered a nice chunk of a vacation.
End of an era.

RIP 🙁
RIP to your vacation fund, that’s brutal. My company did the same thing a few years back and I’m still mourning those lost points
If you got Amex Company card, you can earn points into your personal card at least I did that. You pay like $50 a year
50k in annual spend is a solid chunk of free vacations gone just like that
If your business is intimate enough that you can do this, offer finance/CFO to cover their cashback rate and guarantee accurate and on time expense reports monthly. These are the major benefits of company cards, they may be willing to work with you if you show you’re interested and serious. I had a guy with a similar arrangement a few years ago, it was no loss for me but clearly a benefit for him that gave him incentive to accept work requiring travel. We’re also a 20 person operation though, not sure this would fly at a big corp unless you were friendly with the people running the reimbursement show.
