I've recently identified like many here that the goal is to do less for more.

So I started to track my daily savings and then dumping them into broad stocks.

I sort my savings generically by: food discount, gift card discount, loyalty discount, DIY discount and transport etc.

DIY and second hand items are the obvious big savers. I just did my kitchen and knocked 5k off the quote. Got some furniture for less than half price that is visually brand new.

But I've recently launched into smaller but more frequent savings which I HIGHLY recommend.

Through work I get access to discounted gift cards. So:

    1) I have cash in my account that gains 3.5% Intrest and 1.5% cash back

    2) buy a 3.5% off gift card for the grocery store

    3) use the store loyalty card & end of line to purchase

    4) use a coupon at check out.

I've never tried to double stack but my most successful one recently has been to use my card to purchase a 4% off gift card with 1.5% cash back. Use the in-store loyalty to get 10% off my purchase and then apply a 5% off in store coupon.

That's my weekly shop so if I continue to do this I'll save £7-1000 a year

In addition to this I got a chain swar and worked for 3 days removing a single tree. Last year my gas and electric bills came to under £500 because we have an arger. I find it gold exercise to boot!

Today I saved £20 on my £80 food shop using this stack method.

Stacking coupons, DIY and second hand furniture journey. Small gains add up more than I thought!
