I applied for Citi double cash card and received an email to wait for 7-10 days. After 10 days I called and was told to wait again for few more days stating that I will receive message if they need anything from my side. Really?
I had a big expense due today and was waiting for them to approve my card. Well ghosting a customer after signing up is one thing but even before becoming customer is surprising to me. Who doesn't want to jump on when a new customer wants to join. I am only signing up because American airlines as transfer partner.
I am long chase customer and most recently Bank of america customer.

Credit score is around 780 and income is around 170K.

I have a total of 7 cards with newest being 4 months old and oldest being 3.5 years old.

Why does CITI take a month to make a decision?

    1. Citi is notorious for this tbh, they move at the speed of molasses compared to Chase or Amex. With your stats you should be fine but they’re just slow as hell for some reason

Maybe try calling the recon line if you haven’t already, sometimes that speeds things up

    2. Because they are a trash bank with trash customer service. This is exactly why I stopped using my double cash. Wells Fargo is my new 2x card.

    3. Citi made a very modern app, perhaps one of the top three in the business

But they otherwise pretend that it’s still the 90s, using antiquated tech & a stifling bureaucracy that make the application process intolerable

I was thinking about applying for the CITI Premier card, but there seems to be a lot of complaints around their customer service.

Does anyone know how long transactions typically take to post to your account?

I currently have discover and imo the transactions take FOREVER to post.
