Will shale producers get affected if Venezuela crude starts to flow into the US? I mean if this becomes a cheaper source of heavy crude within can then be refined at the gulf coast refineries, won't shale operations be under pressure.

No. Shale isnt heavy, totally different market.
No the main competition is Canadian oil sands, which the oil companies have invested a trillion into.
Saudi is the main competitor to shale oil
