Why do Turkey never takes sides? #geopolitics #shorts

Turkey isn’t being indecisive — it’s being strategic.
Its location places it at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and it controls the Bosphorus Strait, the only gateway between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean. That alone gives Ankara enormous leverage in both peace and war.
As a NATO member, Turkey gains military protection, intelligence, and advanced weapons from the West. At the same time, it relies heavily on Russia for energy, trade, tourism, and regional stability. Cutting off either side would damage Turkey’s own interests first.
So Turkey balances. It supports Ukraine militarily while keeping economic and diplomatic channels open with Moscow. This position allows Turkey to act as a gatekeeper, mediator, and power broker. In geopolitics, the strongest position isn’t choosing sides — it’s being too important for either side to lose.

    1. You didn’t mention anything about the Middle East >_> it doesn’t do anything for Arabs just lip service >_> while giving oil n gas to ISR demon state 😤😤😤 couldn’t even influence Azerbaijan to stop sending gas n oil to demon state

    2. What can someone say about a country that typically remained "neutral" in WW2, while it quadrupled it's national gold surplus by selling chromium and nikelium to the Nazis and finally shamelessly declared war on Germany in late February 1945 , aiming "to get a piece of the Victor's pie"….

    3. The only country benefiting from nato is turkey 😂, see Denmark and rest nato countries, can't even say anything, and then Greenland sad.😊

    4. Turkey once pursued a foreign policy aimed at regional stability and economic cooperation with its neighbors. Erdoğan’s corruption makes him vulnerable to external leverage—whether from Russia or the NATO sphere—because he puts personal interests ahead of Turkey’s strategic priorities.
