Im looking to buy a rural house on about 4 acres subdivided off of a 40 acre lot that will eventually be turned into a large solar plant. I will be surrounded on the east, west and south sides by solar and possibly the north as well depending on the future plans. The solar farms property will probably be about 60 yards from my house at the closest point but would be in full view of my living room.
Does anyone here have any experience living this close to a solar plant? Have you bought/ sold real estate in vicinity to one? How do home prices hold up? Anything to be aware of? Looking at other solar projects there will be fencing and maintenance done post construction. Which may not be a deal breaker but it is a large scale industrial installation.
Real estate next to giant solar farm?

Why would you choose this location?
Wow that sounds horrible
I work on and around solar farms and I wouldn’t mind having one as a neighbor. They are ugly. But they are typically pretty low maintenance and don’t generate smells, dust, traffic, noise, or excessive runoff which is more than can be said for most neighbors.
In my area, they typically are surrounded by cyclone fencing, which is far from pretty, but secure. I would probably just plant some shrubbery along your fence line and call it a day.
Do those give off high EMF frequencies? It’s likely the solar panels is why the house is for sale. It’s going to hold back buyers when you would decide to sell. I wouldn’t buy a house with a unique objection for buyers
I think damaged panels can leak into the soil some nasty stuff. Do you ever get hail? Hard pass from me. They should sell it to the solar people.
Sounds like a nightmare. I’d not do that.
Less pollution and annoyance than human neighbors, if you don’t mind the view go for it.
