There has to be better ways to help people keep their homes. Perhaps things like:
* Longer and more generous unemployment insurance
* Housing assistance programs or loans
* Incentivize banks to temporarily suspend or reduce payments, and then modify loans to spread missed payments over time instead of foreclosing.
* Eviction process safeguards
* Renter protection
* …

Good, IRAs allow you to do this but younger people usually have one or the other, expand the option to 401ks. Homeownership is part of a valid retirement plan.

Increasing just demand will just make houses even more out of reach for people. Gotta fix the supply side but that will take an act of Congress not some half baked executive order.
