-
Amex Blue Business Cash – $36,000 (going to seriously reduce/close this limit after the 1y mark – got replaced by the BusGold after a good SUB popped up and since >90% of my spending falls into a 4x category on the BG there's no point in keeping the BBC)

UPCOMING SPENDING / SUB NOTES
Planning a trip to Disney World this year for four people and if this new card can be a "better" card for rewards for that specific trip (~$2500 on flights, ~$5500 on park expenses like tickets and on-site hotels, and ~$2500 in food total) that would be great. We can hit any SUB below $7500 easily with just those expenses as soon as we book the trip.
Wife is currently looking hard at the Disney Premier Visa through Chase but I've heard that card isn't actually optimal for Disney trips unless you NEED the financing. If the math works out that even accounting for annual fees we would get more out of this card than the financing+3% rewards for the trip+$400 statement credit on the DPV would be worth, it would be nice since this would be my primary card going forward instead of turning into a sock drawer card as soon as we get home like the Disney Visa would be.
Major airports nearby (for lounge/airline usage): Hartford, JFK/LGA/EWR, BOS in a pinch.
Preferred airline is Delta because we do have an Amex Delta card, so airline points/status/rewards won't really be relevant to this card.
Do you have any cards you've been looking at? Amex Platinum, CSE, not familiar with a ton of others.
Moving away from CSR and looking for a new "primary" card

Wait, $3500/month in dining? That’s like $115 a day, are you eating every meal at restaurants or is this including some business stuff?
Anyway for your spend pattern I’d probably look at the Amex Gold over Platinum – 4x on dining and you’re already in the Amex ecosystem. The Platinum perks are nice but with $3500 dining spend monthly the Gold math probably works out better, plus lower AF
CSP might be worth considering too since you already have Chase relationship and it’s solid for travel, but honestly with that dining spend the Gold seems like a no-brainer
Side Note: if you have a Chase Checking account, request to change it to a Chase Disney Visa Debit card if your account qualifies for it.
It has the same (merchandise, select dining, and guided tour) discounts and exclusive character experience benefits (with complimentary digital photos). It doesn’t earn any rewards though. And definitely don’t use it to pay your hotel unless it’s for an offer only for Disney Visa cardholders. Use a credit card for everything else associated with your Disney trip.
Citi Strata Elite could be worth considering if you think your travel purchases could be made via their portal. 12 points/dollar on hotels, car rental, and attractions, 6 ppd for air travel. 3 ppd on restaurants and 1.5 ppd on all other purchases.
Gets you a Priority Pass membership which allows for two guests free of charge based on what I could find, with each additional guest being $35. Could be that authorized users can also get their own membership and bring guests of their own, but I didn’t read that far in the t&c.
Gets you 4x AA Admiral lounge passes per year. Can use em all at once for yourself and three guests or spread them out throughout the year for yourself
Why close the BBC? It’s a no annual fee Amex card 0 reason to close.
BofA PRE if you have 100k+ in stocks you can move to Merill
Parking and MTA should go on BCP for 3% on transit unless you want points on another CC.
You can move some of your IRA over and still get a Preferred Rewards level and pair it with BoA Premium Rewards or Customized Cash “travel” category. BoA CCs has the biggest number of items in the “travel” category including Disney (amusement parks).
I’d look at the Wells Fargo Autograph or Autograph Journey. Both earn 3x Dining and 3x Travel, with the Journey also earning 4x on Flights and 5x on hotels, but with a $95 annual fee (the former is no AF).
DPs seem to suggest that disney hotels will code as travel and disney food will code as food, but the park tickets etc. will code as entertainment which is different. If you book a package, however, it seems like that may code as travel.
question and curious on why you would think about lowering a CLI on your card?
