They keep sending me SMS claiming my loan is past due and to make payments. For the longest I thought this was some scam and have completely ignored it until today.. saw a most from 8 months ago where majority of moments says to check studentaid.gov

But I’m not even a student nor have I ever been a student / enrolled into courses so what’s going on..?

It could be spam or someone entered the wrong phone number for their notifications. Did you actually try to make account at studentaid.gov with your social security number just to check there aren’t any federal loans linked to your information? Does anything appear on your credit report?
You have a loan ? Check directly to them . Otherwise sending texts is sus.
