I'm considering leaving Bilt now that 2.0 info is leaked. What are some cc alternatives that I can use for rental payments? won't there be fees involved regardless if paid via cc?
should i just pay directly out of my bank account?

What’s the dollar value of 75% of your rent?
Bofa if you are plat honors
>should i just pay directly out of my bank account?
Most likely, yes. Just like how we all did things before Bilt.
The main ones are the Atmos Rewards credit cards (you eat the 3% credit card fee but get 3x points back, which can be a net profit if you value Atmos points, plus the additional spend helps you attain airline status tiers) and the Discover Cashback debit card (1% back on up to $3,000/mo spend) as most rent portals charge a small or flat debit card fee.
Most properties charge a fee for paying with a credit card. The fee varies based on the payment system involved (usually above 2.5%).
You may still want to consider paying your rent thru Bilt but with other credit card to continue earning Bilt points (0.5 Bilt points per dollar), with any points or cash back from the other credit card partially offsetting the 3% fee.
You could also pay thru Bilt using the Discover Cashback Debit card and earn 1% in Cashback, which should more than offset the $9.95 debit card fee. However, Bilt payments with debit card only earn up to 250 Bilt points.
Can you just wait until the actual details are announced? [They are saying](https://www.reddit.com/r/biltrewards/s/gGI8XsQ8HQ):
>”as a Bilt cardholder, you will always have the option to make your full rent or mortgage payment seamlessly through Bilt and without a transaction fee. That is not changing.
What i can tell you is that with the Card 2.0 structure – the more you use the card, the more you can earn. That can mean earning the full 1x on rent, plus new ways to earn across multiple homes or elsewhere in your neighborhood. Or if you use the card less – yes – you will earn less.“
So there will still be fee-free ways to pay rent with the Bilt card, but the rewards you earn will presumably scale with the AF and the amount you spend. Decide when you learn the actuals details, not the rumors. There is no rush.
Life advice: dont make decisions based on gossip and rumors. Like…if youre old enough to have a credit card and make decisions in this thing, you should be mature enough to not prematurely overreact
Pay with Plastiq using the $495 Bilt card. Earns 2X Bilt points and 4% Bilt cash.
I just throw it on my AAdvantage.
If I had Robin hood gold then I’d do it and eat 2.99% for that little bitty 0.01% (which is larger than 0 I guess). But I’d just go back to bank acct.
Honestly I would probably do the blue and would consider the $95 if there wasn’t a transaction limit (my complex charges a fee for any payment, that is different from the CC penalty, so I don’t need bilt cash). I use bilt for my dining to get those out of the way, but it might be more effective to just get a 5% dining and pay rent the old fashioned way. We’ll see when the time comes.
This card is now crap.. I have to spend 75% of my rent to get the 1% on rent… no way is that worth the opportunity costs.. I dont see how that’s good for anyone…
