Is the US government lying about the unemployment rate?
The US unemployment rate is 4.4%.
The latest unemployment rate in the United States is 4.4%.
That is slightly down from what it was the previous month.
Generally, a healthy unemployment rate is considered to be between 4-5%.
This number doesn't include… people staying at home to care for children, people who are disabled and unable to work, people who are living off the largess of family members and simply not motivated to look for a job, and people who are still looking for work but their unemployment benefits ended.
