    1. Exxon : we don’t want to invest in Venezuela

Trump : sorry but i’m not a big fan of you anymore, i will to keep you out of Venezuela, you lost !

      Exxon :

    2. Trump clearly has *no* idea what he’s doing in Venezuela, yet he expects the oil industry to fall in line behind his no-plan, no-strategy buffoonery? Hilarious.

    3. So, he is basically handing out drilling rights or something now? In exchange for what? He does know they will be sitting ducks in Venezuela right?

    4. Interesting the article mentioned that he also wants to undermine, through executive order, court orders.

    5. Now I won’t force you to upgrade Venezuela’s oil production at your own expense! See how you like THAT!

    6. If we could somehow harness the energy from the Founding Fathers spinning in their graves, we’d probably be able to reverse climate change….

They fought a war to not have a king, and here we are, the party of small govt and free markets, amirite?

So Dozy Don is mad at Exxon for stating the obvious, a day after his State Department ordered American citizens and lawful permanent residents on Saturday to leave Venezuela “immediately,” citing an increasingly dangerous security environment and specific threats to U.S. nationals.

      He’s a moron.

    8. So a company was handed a county to do with as they please, and they don’t want it because to much time and money to build the infrastructure they need. Might have been something to ask before hand.

That’s because Chevron has the contract. Trump read the confidential note from VP out loud on Friday lol it’s Chevron in Venezuela. Buy buy buy!

C’mon, Rystad have estimated it will only take $185 billion and 16 years to ramp up processing of 3 million barrels a day of that not so sweet Venezuelan crude. Play the long game folks.

    11. Uninvited from the party they didn’t wanna go to in the first place.. what a pissy baby

    12. As far as I am concerned, the ExxonMobil CEO said what the shareholders wanted to hear. Doing his job!

    13. Having the US led by the whims and fiat of the earth’s most egomaniacal man-child makes literally everything worse for literally everyone except the .000001%. If you think the leadership diarrhea hasn’t trickled down to you yet, just wait. It’s coming.

No oil company wants to throw away billion, only to lose their investment as soon as Venezuela nationalizes oil yet again. Also, who will guarantee worker safety.
      Exxon smart. Grandpa not.

From an investment standpoint, this underlines a real dilemma, governments can offer access and incentives, but companies will still base decisions on risk, legal certainty, and long-term returns. Exxon’s CEO describing Venezuela as “uninvestable” wasn’t just rhetoric, it reflects decades of challenging commercial conditions.

Markets often react more to structural risk than political signaling, and this could signal a more cautious future for U.S. energy investors abroad.

    16. Building modern oil infrastructure from scratch with a hostile local population with zero technical ability and a political situation generously described as “fucked”….yeah, I can’t imagine why they’re not two feet in.
