Facebook owner Meta has named Dina Powell McCormick, a former Trump administration adviser and longtime finance executive, as president and vice chairman of the tech giant.

Powell McCormick previously served on Meta's board of directors – where, the company notes, she was “deeply engaged” in accelerating its artificial intelligence push across platforms. In her new management role, Meta says Powell McCormick will help guide its overall strategy, including the execution of multi-billion-dollar investments.

    1. Good stuff. That’s the way to lead a company so large and so dependent on regulations being in your favour.

Same reason apple gave trump a plaque and everyone is signaling nonsense U.S investment. You have to cater to the leadership in charge, especially with Trump. The orange monkey has the SEC and FTC under the whitehouse’s influence. No reason to let politics get in the way of making money when you know this administration is so easily swayed by cheap compliments and meaningless accolades and positions.

Fuck me. I’ve been a huge fan of Meta for a long time. I’m really thinking of selling it all.

Edit: a fan of the stock. Not so much the company.

    3.  from wiki, she became a partner in Goldman Sachs in 3 years without any financial experience 🙄

Powell joined Goldman Sachs in 2007 as a managing director,[8] having been hired by John F. W. Rogers, a longtime Goldman figure with experience with past Republican administrations.[18] Powell was then named partner in 2010.[11][46] Powell has conceded that she joined Goldman Sachs despite having no background in the subject of finance; she has said that her entire career has been guided by the notion of not planning a lot but rather “just taking that leap of faith.”[36]

So kinda like how every big companies in China needs to at least have a CCP member as an executive.

    5. “The Twitter Files” was much less significant than this and the outrage was all over. Where are my “no governmental interference in social media!” rightoids ?

      Nice Freudian slip:

      >She will partner with the compute and infrastructure teams to ensure our multi-billion-dollar investments execute **against our goals** and drive positive economic impact in the communities where we operate around the world.

What a bunch of clowns. They couldn’t even be bothered to proof read their own announcement?

    7. It is freaking insane how Facebook (and other social media / TV companies) went from being woke AF in 2015 to extreme MAGA. And it is not just that the liberals receded and the conservatives advanced, it is the same people who switched sides so hard.
