I paid the wrong loan because I was half asleep and on my phone

this is 100% my fault and I feel incredibly dumb.

I was in bed the other night, just laying there and playing on my phone before sleeping. I remembered I still hadn’t made my student loan payment, so I figured I’d just do it real quick. I have two loans in the portal. I clicked one, typed the amount, confirmed it, and went to sleep. Next day I check my account and realize I paid the wrong loan. Not only that, but I paid way more than I meant to. I basically sent almost all the money I had set aside for the month.

I do have some money aside, but that was supposed to be for rent and groceries, not to accidentally nuke one loan in a single click. I called the servicer and they said they might be able to reverse it but it could take weeks and there’s no guarantee.
Now I’m just sitting here feeling sick about it. All because I was tired and scrolling on my phone instead of double checking.

Has anyone had a payment reversed before or am I just stuck waiting?
