The people buying adobe have never used Adobe Acrobat, which completely SUCKS. I can't believe there is free software that is faster than the OG. I am not surprised it keeps tanking. Also the latest AI they released for photoshop is just allowing Gemini and other tools to edit your photos. what is stopping Google from completely erasing photoshop from the face of the earth? You dont think they are working on taking on photoshop? lightroom?

Their products sucking is a feature not a bug, the fact that I have no choice is bullish

    2. You can just get open source tools in Python for most of the basic tasks with pdf’s like exporting and importing. Adobe is so annoying with their bait and switch bullshit I will never pay for it.

    3. I want to throw my new M4 to the wall even though I know it’s not my computer’s fault that adobe acrobat is so shit

    4. Adobe creates tools for actual artists making novel works. Just because AI seems novel today doesn’t mean we’ll still think like that 3 years from now when it keeps regurgitating the same tired concepts. So sure, Adobe lets AI in, but what a lot of people forget about Adobe is people use it to make unique content and, if they used AI instead, it would look unimaginative and derivative. And Adobe has one of the largest libraries of media in the world, so it’s not only a data source of user-generated media, it sells the tools to create it.

Free software faster at what? Loading a PDF? If you look at Adobe’s website, Acrobat is not its bread and butter. It was a neat side project that was a better replacement for PostScript in the web era and enhanced support for laser and inkjet printing, but it is a legacy tech and not a moneymaker for Adobe at all.

I don’t own Adobe, don’t plan to, it’s never been my company, but even at today’s stock price: 146,000% total lifetime return is not bad. When people try and get something they want out of AI and it doesn’t work, the contractor they hire next will be using one or more pieces of Adobe software.

    5. Adobe revenue growth will crawl to zero until it drops.

2020 was the beginning of the end, when high production value became secondary to quantity or character.  AI can do both better and faster.

If you don’t see this you’re a dinosaur.  The greatest corporate story tellers are genuine and honest, which is shit with too much production.  Bye ADBE.

Got a notice of prices rising today. Unsubscribed. 75$ a month to curse a company every time I open their shitty product. No thanks. There are options out there.

It’s even worse when you’re in a job that’s .pdf heavy or requires working with Adobe

The fact they continue to exist with a domineering presence in San Jose/Silicon Valley baffles me. They’ve been putting lipstick on a pig for years in terms of the product line

Qt this point I can only see 2 scenarios for Adobe.

One of themx the bull case, is what happened to Meta when “it was dead” and went to 88 bucks per share not that long ago, and look now where it is

The other case scenario is Paypal. The value trap that a lot of people keep falling. Where numbers look good, but there is constant pressure from competitors + the management has gained a reputation between their customers of being a pos business

In either case, the narrative will be hilarious. If goes up. Numbers don’t lie. They’re super sticky. Reddit is not the entire world. AI cannot replicate what they do. Canva is not that great. Apple couldn’t do it because they were so behind…

If they go to the shitter… of course they went down with how they treat their customers. They had zero innovation ij the past 10 years. Look at the price of their products… bla.bla blah
