Random story but I was sitting in my car parked outside of a tennis court at a public park and a tennis racket flew out of someone’s hand and cracked my windshield. The person came up to me, admitted fault, and gave me his full name and phone number. Unfortunately, I did not grab his insurance information, I have since reached out to him to provide it and as we chatted in person, he agreed he’d like to assist in resolving this. My insurance doesn’t cover glass damage (liability only) but I assume because the other person is at fault that their insurance would be the one to cover it and I’d have to file a third party claim. I’m a little unsure as this wasn’t a typical accident so could use some advice on how to proceed. I haven’t filed a police report but have considered it. Any help would greatly appreciated.

How much does it cost to replace the windshield?
Make that phone call then come back and tell us.
If you don’t have insurance to cover your windshield, then what makes you think they do, since they’re not even driving a car?
I don’t know if their insurance would cover this because it’s not a car accident. Try going to a place like safelite. I believe they have ways of billing your insurance even if you don’t have specific coverages.
