Think of scholarships as part of the college process. any money you win, no matter how small, can help reduce debt and stress. its basically free money if you put in some effort. using a scholarship search tool can make finding opportunities way faster and less overwhelming.

please dont forget to hunt for scholarships

im still not totally sure how scholarship money actually gets used, like does it always go straight to tuition or can it help with stuff like books or rent?

When I went to school, I had a partial need based scholarship based on family income that covered only about a third of it. Then there was a policy that any scholarship money I won and secured for myself would just come out of that need based grant.

I found some local ones to apply to but didn’t see the point as it wasn’t going to be more than $20k. Took out loans for the rest.

College is way too expensive in this country and the system is broken.

is there ever a point where applying for a smaller scholarship actually makes more sense than going for bigger ones?
