What even is the endgame with Greenland? I know Europe has yet to grow a pair when dealing with the US (or in general) but even this seems too much for them to just take it with a smile, they’re holding a lot of US bonds so this could really hurt all sides if it comes to it.
Meanwhile, China is laughing its ass off at the West eating itself alive and salivating that they are too busy to help Taiwan right now

Go for it. Trump seems to treat tariffs like a vigg that the foreign country pay for access to the American market. Other countries treat them as a cut to their sales and go find a new customer. Americans will just end up paying more for the things they need and buying less. Other countries will end up buying less from America. The demand is let me control the western hemisphere or I’m going to harm us both. I assume there will be few international leaders that see this as a valuable deal.

As a Brit with only a basic understanding of the US system of government I struggle to comprehend how Trump can make so many seemingly unilateral decisions without obvious checks and balances.
Is he simply riding roughshod over the law or does the Constitution genuinely grant this much power to the President as head of the executive? As an outsider looking in in recent times, it’s becoming increasingly hard to distinguish the goings on from an autocratic system.

Supreme court dragging their feets on ruling on tariffs. It’s clear that Trump shouldn’t have this power, but the conservative judges are probably still deciding which of them has to justify why Trump is allowed to ignore Congress.
