Hi I’m a Pennsylvanian undergrad, currently a junior going to KU. Recently money has been a struggle for my family and I decided to apply for loans and my mom keeps denying to help with FASFA or any loans. I applied without any co signers and my school contacted me saying I have to get my parents signature to prove they don’t want to help in the FASFA. She dosent trust the government at all even with her signature so I just got yelled by her. I’m still waiting for my school to contact me again on what do but they’re useless and contact during the semester and not outside during breaks a lot.
I applied for the PHEAA and again DENIED because no co-signer.
im not sure what to do All I need is two loans of $5k and I’m willing to pay back everything once I graduate I don’t care if there’s a loan to my name so young. My family keeps getting mad that I don’t want to drop out or commute but being at home is hell for me.
Any advice on what to do would be great thank you

1.Contact student aid and see if they can do anything.
2. Work a bunch of tours and get on a payment plan.
3. Take a semester off and stack cash.
4. Not recommended but I did this because I couldn’t get loans, the interest killed me. Get a credit card.
Do your parents support you at all? There are ways to get out of providing parent info if your parents have abandoned you; I would ask your financial aid counselor about this.
