Given the blood red in the market, and the stock’s fall after earnings, what are we expecting out of this year? Do we expect it to fall in price or gain steadily? The company showed a tremendous earnings, but I’m just wondering what to expect out of the year. Is Google a buy at this current price, or should we expect it to fall further?

Could go either way. But I’m not selling. Google so far has had the best luck with AI, and they say they’re gonna spend more which spooking short term investors. They don’t like that because they want more immediate returns, but this is good strategy in my mind for the long-term
They had great earnings, spending more in CAPEX than expected bi don’t think that is a bad thing since they are in a great position. I’m not selling and will probably buy more
RDDT has a long way to drop. I called the drop more than a week ago when I told the bag holders of RDDT to sell. It was trading like meme stock. Fun time is OVER !!!
Google is always a buy. Unless you’re trying to time the market, which I advise against, buying Google now will net you profit in 20 years.
Going to buy more on the dip today. That should put me in a solid 100k position for the long term. Got in at $307
I’m not selling so it doesn’t really matter to me. Google will probably be the most valuable company in the world in 5 years. I’m watching and i’ll probably buy more.
If you asked this sub about Google 8-12 months ago it was a risky buy that likely wasn’t going anywhere. Now everyone is bullish on it and it’s impenetrable moat.
Not a great sign in my opinion.
The market is just incredibly bearish right now, I would DCA and buy. I think once this market shake-out is finished, we’ll see the stock shoot up and pass ATH. Nobody knows when this will happen, but I’m thinking in 2 months…
This situation is different. Entire markets are selling. Big moves either coordinated or coming from huge whales taking profit (If it’s a rotation, it’s not clear yet where to and why). Even media that are good at coming up with narratives and excuses after the fact have run out of things to say.
Will continue to buy.
It depends. CapEx was already high and is nearly *doubling* this year to support AI investments, which really eats in to what could have been other investments, acquisitions, or shareholder returns.
So the two questions are
1) how much of a moat will this massive CapEx buy them? Can they turn the capital investment into high ROI products and services?
2) what is the trendline for CapEx over the next several years? Will it double again for ‘27? Stay flat? Go down?
When the CapEx numbers are this massive, how you answer those two questions will really define future FCF-based valuation.
Macro of course has an impact too. This is a huge AI investment so overall sentiment on AI will impact things in the short term, but I think are less impactful if you’re a long term investor.
Personally, I’m still long GOOGL. They are firing on all cylinders and I think will comfortably outperform peers.
Do yall ever just try living life? Lol
If you believe in the company why are you being so emotional about a drop
Look how quickly they’re gaining in cloud services, and earnings are growing like crazy.. They got billions in SpaceX, when that IPOs it’ll basically cover the CapeX growth difference.
I’m not worried, if I had cash I’d buy all the dips.
Google on sale today. I’m buying.
Google will win the AI race and will eat everyone, short term noise doesn’t matter
And dip lasted… 5 minutes. Nice try Goldman, you can dump BTC or metals as much as you can, even tech. But it is inevitable rotation into another stock asset, therefore SPY never falls.
It’s bounced back!
Dang missed the lows earlier this morning
Should’ve just bought the dip
At this pace it would be stupid for Google to not invest. AI underpins their every single product since 10 years ago, so it is not like consumers ain’t using it.
It is already climbing back up. I think it is a really good strategy for them. They have the cash, why not destroy the competition?
Still up 1000% on my LEAPS
It seems to me that there are two main risks with Google, the company risk and the market risk.
If you think the company will outperform the market, that’s great but if the market goes down 20% and the stock goes down 15% you still haven’t won.
That’s having the best stateroom on the Titanic.
Reddit seems to be mostly market bulls, nothing ever happens the market will go up. I’m not so convinced of this belief.
Why not pair the stock with a short index fund or a market put which then profits if the market goes down so long as Google outperforms it?
I think I know the answer to my question but I’m interested to hear what others think.
Well considering the unemployment data showed the worst January for job openings since 2009….I think that recession that everyone swore would never happen may finally be here.
I hope GOOGL falls more so I can add even more.
Google will be here long after every single idiot on this thread is dead. If the “AI bubble” bursts, GOOGL stays at the top with the most to gain because they aren’t circle jerking along with the other regarded mag7s around openAI.
They have a share in about every digital space imaginable too. So there’s no “Google fall”, there’s only a flash sale.
This is when winners and losers are made. Already happened with GME and MSTR. Hold through the bullshit.
Google is a buy. They are going all in on AI. THEY ARE PLAYING THE LONG GAME!
They know that search is all about AI. They see folks like me that don’t use non-AI search on their platform. They are nearly equal to OpenAI in capabilities already. They have a huge backdrop business to fund it. They don’t have all these circular investments.
I would be nervous about pure play AI like OpenAI. They will be sold for pennies on a dollar when/if the bubble bursts.
Great earnings lots of spending. If you don’t spend and make lots of money you will be green. That seems to be the only answer. Msft good earnings but spent and got crushed. Let’s hope Nvda don’t spend and makes lots of money
