Seriously, this subreddit needs to learn to think critically. Stop simping for BTC just out of principle and start treating it like a financial asset, not a religion. The echo chamber is getting exhausting.

Don't get me wrong, I’m a heavy BTC holder. But man, every time I open this sub I start doubting my investment.

Why does most of the talk here sound like a Karen’s inspirational Facebook feed? For almost any other asset, people actually discuss fundamentals, critique trends and analyze risks. Here? It’s mostly nutballs posting motivational quotes and proverbs like I’m at a cult recruitment meeting. geez.

Because 99% of retail in this space are low IQ with no understanding of finance. They simply want to get rich by selling their coins to someone else at a higher price and believe they are owed that right because they got in “early” despite there being nearly 0 utility.

    2. I wonder if it is possible that those people are demonstrating a lack of understanding of what they’ve invested in?

Well, it IS still Reddit at the end of the day so not sure what you were expecting from a bunch of degenerates 🤷‍♀️

There are no fundamentals. Any cryptocurrency can perform any function that bitcoin has. It’s worthless outside of name.

BTW every major crypto has been getting smoked, so it’s not just a Bitty story.

    6. Because Reddit was compromised YEARS ago when all logical posts got downvotes into oblivion. It became overrun with fake bots posing as liberal American youth and they convinced ACTUAL American youth to adopt dangerous ideas and views on things like money. And Bitcoin.

If they ever let reality back onto Reddit, Bitcoin will likely suffer from it.

    7. Because most of Reddit is goobers who have nothing to do with their time, especially this sub.

What fundamentals? It has none. Price is 100% dictated by volume of sellers vs volume of buyers. Only way it goes up is to encourage more buyers than sellers. That’s the whole point. It’s why we have crypto ads with celebs during Super Bowl.

    9. I assume half of all comments in this space are bots. My second assumption is that the real folks out here have $1k or less invested.

For these reasons, I dont trust anything here.

I have bitcoin in my portfolio as a hedge. Helps personally with fomo, but im not all in.

    10. Most of this sub is in bitcoin bc they watch YouTube crypto influencers who tell them they’re gonna get a lambo soon. When you say things like “Bitcoin probably isn’t going to double as quickly as it has in the past” you get downvoted to hell and flooded with responses of “bro you just don’t understand the long game. Fiat is dead.”

Also most of these people have put all their savings into this incredibly speculative asset, and that’s gonna hit hard with unemployment ticking up and the economy ticking down. They put their 6k emergency fund in to Bitcoin and now it’s only 4700 and they also may lose their job and need that money more than ever. Crypto influencers are no different than trad wife influencers. It’s  all a scam and people are finding out.

    11. This is a serous question for OP. If we were to think of BTC as an investment asset, how would we go about calculating its intrinsic value? What are BTC’s substittue goods?

Damn I like you, I guess you have a problem with the below people:

🤑🤑🤑🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Saaaaaleeeeeeee!!! Bitcoin to the moon 🚀🚀🚀🚀

    13. Let us know when you discover the fundamental price mechnics that will allow me to valuate the Fair Market Price of bitcoin.

The problem with bitcoin is it just does what it does, look at the graphs and that’s all you have, no news or policies can have any predictable effects, remember when everyone got excited for what trump what do for BTC … then it dropped, any news can flip it either way, so really it’s just for funs chatting about it because nobody knows the future of it and honestly if that encourages people to make rational decisions and not getting too emotional about huge drops, then fair enough who cares, it’s fun, made me money on BTC with no clue what I’m doing
