Hello everyone! I’m mainly making this post for me but I would love some broad insight over all. I’m in a bit of a unique scenario I feel. I am a 21 year old college student with only around $700-800 a month in total life expenses. Due to my father passing while being active duty, I am lucky enough to have both a free education but also be paid about 5k a month.

My entire life I’ve been extremely rules and systems driven. If a system works, follow it and don’t break it. Though I’m young and naive and admittedly jump the gun sometimes. I have been saving and investing since I was 16 years old

A few months ago I had been getting more and more worried about America and the world’s de-dollarization. I began looking for hedges on my investments, my Roth IRA is worth 43k and I promised my girlfriend and mother I’d buy a house in 2026. Ultimately I reached a 44k retirement portfolio and 70k in savings for my downpayment.

(I realize this is very high and I’m targeting 350k price range) my goal was to never be forced out the house due to this risk at a young age, my mortgage I want as low as possible.

With this foundation laid I had ironically began learning about bitcoin on Oct 11th due to its initial drop and fundamentals. Shortly after I had decided I liked the fundamentals, basically gold (but not a million lbs) were I to ever leave americas financial system. God forbid.

Fast forward to now, I initially purchased 6k bitcoin at 79k, $400 at 73k, another $100 at 72k, and $300 at 66.5k. Aside from this I have $2200 left on my exchange account to DCA as we fall further or begin to rebound.

I’m not sure what I’m asking you guys for, maybe tell me I’m stupid for that amount of an allocation to bitcoin, maybe I should’ve set an 80k house goal instead of 70k and nearly 10k In bitcoin. But maybe, just maybe, this asymmetric bet for my retirement works out. I’m fully convicted as of now and don’t plan to sell for a very long time but as of now of course I’m down a decent amount on a substantial chunk of my networth. Even if it’s just advice to a young guy, send it my way, I’m all ears and thanks guys.

21 year old looking for some rational insight.
