I recently ran out of my trintellix and my insurance (BCBS) says I have to pay $500 to get my 30 day supply… How do I get around this? If I don’t I’m forced to undergo serious withdrawals which is already starting.

That cost usually means your insurance won’t approve it without a prior authorization or step therapy. Call your doctor or psychiatrist ASAP and let them know what’s happening; they can usually get an emergency refill approved or submit the prior auth, so you’re not stuck paying $500. You can also check if your pharmacy has a short “bridge” supply to hold you over until insurance fixes it. Definitely reach out; you shouldn’t have to handle this alone.
