JFYI – if you had a Bilt 1.0 card and upgraded to Bilt 2.0, they send the card to whatever address you used when you first applied to 1.0. Maybe I personally missed it, but nowhere in their “simple” upgrade flow did I see a prompt to confirm where to send the card and whether the address they had on file is still correct.

I got the 1.0 years ago and have moved since then. And due to the above my physical 2.0 card was shipped to a residence that I no longer live in.

When I reached out via customer service chat to get my address updated and a new card shipped to where I now live, they took 10 hours to respond, and ultimately said there’s nothing they can do unless I either submit a new application or reach out to the card issuer myself to get everything sorted.

When I probed further, the agent essentially confirmed they were aware cards were being sent to the wrong addresses and they haven’t done anything proactive about it. Should I have kept my original addresses updated? Yea, probably. But for a company built on rent payments that has data on all of the addresses where we pay rent every month, they could have easily built a quick automated check – if the address they on file for 1.0 isn’t the same as where the user pays rent, notify the user to review the address used in the 2.0 application to ensure it’s right. Or, idk – just ask the user to review the 2.0 application details and don’t assume the 1.0 application is still accurate.

Just feels like another example where they could have easily done better during this botched 2.0 rollout, and now I’m willing to bet thousands of physical Bilt cards from people in similar situations have been shipped to old addresses. So disappointing and gives me even less faith this company knows what it’s doing.

If you’re in the same boat and waiting for a card that never arrived – check which address they shipped the card to & watch out for any fraud on your account.
