So I just got into another accident today (second one ever) and I'm realizing I probably messed up my first claim because I had no idea what I was supposed to do. This time I at least remembered to call the cops, get a police report, take a bunch of photos, and swap insurance info with the other driver. But I'm still not sure if I'm doing everything right.

My main questions: Should I go to the doctor even though I feel totally fine right now? When the other driver's insurance calls me, should I talk to them or just refer them to my insurance/lawyer? And how much detail should I give my own insurance company? I've been reading posts where people said something that seemed harmless and it came back to bite them. Also, a friend mentioned I should talk to someone like Benji Personal Injury or a similar firm, but I don't know if it's too early for that or if I should wait. What do you guys wish you'd known immediately after your accident that would've helped your case?

What should I actually do right after a car accident? Just had my second one and still feel clueless

If you’re not injured dont hire a lawyer. You’ll regret it. You don’t *have* to see a doctor immediately. You might or not not have injuries. You can wait a day or two on that to see how you feel. Injuries can take a few days to manifest. If you’re filing a claim with your insurance you must fully cooperate with them or risk having your claim denied. If you have a claim open with your insurance simply inform the other insurance of that no need to deal with them. If you don’t have the coverage on your policy and must file thru the other party, you have to choice but to talk to them. Just tell the truth and you’ll be fine. No one is out to get you or twist your words around.
