I need advice on running shoes that won't break my budget. I have lots of expenses this year so I would like to spend ~ $60 or less on a new set of running shoes.

My current running shoes (New Balance Freshform 680 in 4E width) are worn down at the outside edges and starting to cause inner knee pain. I have been told before that I overpronate and take too long a stride. I've more or less shortened my stride length (by slowing down my pace) but still favor the outside edges of my feet when I run.

I am an occasional runner (when I run for running's sake)… typically only doing between 1-3 miles 1-3 days a week maybe 10-20 weeks out of the year. Grew up playing a lot of soccer and used to run regularly when I was in my 20's and 30's but only really run now when I want to manage cardio fitness or lose some weight.

If I am in reasonable shape and not tired then I favor a strike/stride on the balls of my feet (with taut calves), but have a full foot strike when I am out of shape, or become tired mid run (which happens often)

My favorite running shoe ever was the Merrell Mix Master (1), which were super comfortable but didn't last very long. I have been partial to New Balance for a long time after discovering that my feet are very wide since they were the easiest sneakers to find in 4E width.

Short of spending weeks hunting clearance racks, is there a decent running shoes that meets my criteria? The running shoes may double as daily walk-around shoes in warm weather.

    Thanks

Budget running shoe in 4E width for overpronation?
