For at least the last decade, I’ve been sleeping on the cheapest IKEA mattress possible but fit with $250 worth of fancy mattress topper. Genuinely the most comfortable sleep of my life since and I never looked back.

I’ve had to move a few times in the last 10 years and every time I just took my topper with me and threw it onto the next cheap mattress. Way better than a fancy mattress imo.

In case you’re curious, I combined a thick and dense memory foam with a plush bamboo topper over it. It’s a dream. No more back pain.

Tip: don’t waste money on a fancy mattress, buy a fancy topper

    1. Personally I love my 2 inch latex topper combined with a pillow top. And I’m right there with you on the cheap ilea mattress. It’s served me quite well.

    2. Agreed. I got a cheap and firm mattress then adding a latex topper. Have been good for at least 5 years now.

    3. I did a bit different getting the firmest Brooklyn bedding plank Luxe and then a $15 egg crate. Perfect.

Well. If you get a soft mattress you cannot use a topper to make it more firm. I’ve tried everything lol. So this applies like 50% of the time
