Does anyone use Costco ONLY for pet supplies? We have two dogs who are on Apoquel and I’ve read that you can save $30 a month instead of going through the vet or Chewy. I’ve also been reading that their pet food is high quality and very reasonably priced. Is there anyone who gets all of their pet supplies from Costco? Do you think the cost of the membership makes the savings worthwhile?

I am able to get significantly better deals on groceries locally, and I prefer not to buy in bulk unless it’s an incredible deal. So I doubt that I will purchase groceries there.

Thanks in advance for any input.

    1. Considering a membership is only like $30 yes I would say it’s a deal. My dog liked all of their food and it is a great price.

Also you’ll get to shop there for anything else.

my dog has skin allergies can’t eat chicken and rice, but my vet said “anything but Kirkland dog food” has a lot of that stuff in it

I have an Instacart membership (10/month) which I use for general grocery delivery/pickup. You can order Costco delivery (not pickup) without a Costco membership through Instacart. My dog eats Costco dog food. Not sure about the prescriptions though.

    4. Either go with a friend or have a friend get you a gift card – Costco GCs work as a one time guest pass, essentially, so you can see for yourself.

I don’t think I’d bother for JUST pet supplies. Then again there’s only one type of cat treat I buy there because it’s a slightly better deal than at the big pet supply chain – but everything else comes from the chain store still.
