Lot of good tidbits and things like competing with yourself, your lifestyle standard being the bare minimum your kids will want to obtain, etc. Check it out, really enjoyed the conversation. Also the guy mentioned the BS excitement people feel when they talk about how much their home appreciated…not realizing that if/when they sell that any house they move to has appreciated as much/more. Not typical that people are downsizing or migrating…

Really good pod I listened to today

Morgan Housel always drops some real talk – that house appreciation thing hits different when you realize you’re basically stuck in same market anyway.

    2. The Psychology of Money, his book, was amazing. Really opened up my eyes to why I am the way I am.

    3. they touch on die with 0 for a bit and mention giving your kids inheritance at 30 instead of when u die and they dont need it anymore, good point EXCEPT if you need long term care or something as an old fart and you’re fucked because your kid used it as their homes down payment. I kind of get old people not giving that $ as an able body 30 year old can take their chances working a bit more than a 75 year old who needs a nursing home.

    4. I’ve had mixed reactions to many of Chris’s podcast episodes before, and I came into this with some skepticism. But I actually agree with you, there’s some really good nuggets in this episode.
