I watched a bunch of videos and recipe posts.. combined what I liked from those into this recipe

1 5oz Fels Naptha bar, grated
1 15oz Zote White bar, grated
    4c Washing Soda
    4c Borax
    2c Baking Soda
    2c Oxi Powder (Costco brand)
    1c Epsom Salt
    1c scented pellets (Costco brand)

I used a food processor to grate up the soap and blend everything into a fine powder. One load uses 2TBS of powder.

I calculate the cost to be $13.49 for 133 loads. You can definitely do it for less if you omit the scented pellets, the oxi powder, and the Epsom salt. A basic recipe is just the bar soap with washing soda and borax.

Anyone here have some experience with homemade laundry soap?

    1. Aww I knew they would. I asked a bunch of times about restock and they told me it was coming back.

All the experiences I’ve seen are people breaking their machines eventually, because of their homemade concoctions.

A lot of people did this for awhile until they realized it was more work than any savings was worth and just didn’t work as well as the commercial stuff
