My spouse works general construction and needs heavier duty clothes. We bought him five new pairs of jeans at the end of last year and some heavy duty socks as a something nice to celebrate the start to the new year. Well fast forward to now and four of those pairs of jeans have ripped at the seams in ways where I can't just resew them.. I didn't have anything to patch them with and three of them were covered in paint so I couldn't even do so if I tried. I myself haven't had any proper pants for a while because we can't afford any jeans so I've been using leggings and shorts until they get holes and then I just keep wearing them.

We've tried Goodwill and second hand stores in the past but we're paying almost the same price for new pants there and they deteriote/rip twice as fast. I'm at my wits end because every time we think we can buy new everyday clothes, his work pants suddenly all rip. We've tried the exact correct size, we've tried going baggier, it doesn't matter; his rough work and constant movement just destroys them and we can't even afford to buy him new ones right now until our next paycheck. Is there any advice or suggestions for making jeans last longer? Or maybe a different type of pants that can last longer than two months until we can afford a Carhatt brand or something similar?

    1. Try Facebook groups. A lot of clothing re sellers pos t on there. Put an ISO post with specifics and someone should respond.

If thrift stores or places like Savers doesn’t work for you, have you considered TJ Maxx? I get brand name quality brands there half off or more. Recently I got New Balance athletic shirts, some socks, etc for a fraction of the price and it’ll last.
