Statute limitation private student loans?

I can’t seem to find the answer for my state Louisiana for discover private student loan. Some say 3yr some say 10yr. And when does the statute even start…?. Seems like they randomly had my loan on deferment for like 5 years though I didn’t request that and I see missed payments finally coming up to the 3 year mark though.
