Hello everyone,
Today I'm taking the first step in what is a multiple year plan. Because buying our own house in the country where we live (Netherlands) seems expensive and impossible, I want to explore the possibility of buying and renting out a tiny house or a gite in France. I'd love to hear from more people who have done this.
Local legislation
-
Type of accommodation (pros and cons)
-
Mortgage for a holiday home
-
Off-site maintenance and cleaning (how does this work)
-
Maintenance costs (urgent etc.)
-
Sewery connection costs (for non-existing buildings)
-
Soil survey costs for purchasing land are already over €1000, without garanty it will work out…
-
Existing buildings much more affordable than new constructions (but there are still skeletons in the closet)?
-
Low revenue (is it actually worth it?)
Buying a house to rent it out – Is it worth it?
