I've been looking around and from what I'm seeing, the SR-22 filing itself is only like $15-$30..? but I read some people are paying up to $80.

I've read GEICO and Progressive might be decent options. GEICO premiums only go up about 10% and Progressive is around 3% . Also heard The General and Bristol West work with high-risk drivers, but prices vary.. Just trying to figure out if affordable SR-22 really exists or if I'm stuck paying crazy rates for the next few years.

Is there really a "cheap" SR-22 insurance in 2026?

The sr 22 is cheap, the rating for insurance is not cheap, once you have a dui you’re at max rate for auto on all rating, and duis unlike other rating factors follow you for life, you’ll be paying a higher rate as now you’re considered a high risk driver, same with felony speeding. The sr22 after drop off and other factors will lower over time, but it’s a reason to think before drunk driving.

    2. SR-22 is not really meant to be cheap. You will need to shop around and see what numbers you can come up with, but I would NOT plan to pay 15-30 a month. More like 100.

You just need to get actual full quotes

You’re not going to be paying $30/month

You are confusing the “filing fee” that insurers add on for SR-22 with the entire cost of SR-22. The filing fee is $15-$30, but the increased rating factors bring the total cost a lot higher.
