The Rocket money app commercial makes me hoot with laughter every time. On the commercial, people are saying, "I mistakenly spent $400 a month on forgotten subscriptions for years!" The idea is that you download their app and it will tell you about all these thousands of dollars you're probably spending.
It's extremely funny to me because I literally have one debit card, track the expenses every week and know where every penny goes. I have to because a lot of times I have 5 bucks in there. If I have a mistaken subscription or fraudulent charge, I see it almost immediately and go straight to the bank fraud department. And then, just to be sure, I cancel that card and get a new one.
The idea that there are lots of people who spend thousands and don't even notice is somehow deranged. It offends me deeply.
What do you guys think? Frugal people tend to pay attention.

I’m guessing their commercial isn’t aimed at frugal people.
My mom signs up for stuff and forgets about it. I balanced her books at the start of the year and she had $200ish a month in subs that she didn’t realize she had. People who are not good with money or suffering from depression, this can definitely happen to.
This app charges quite a bit to cancel these subscriptions for you. Rocket preys on the poor and the unsavvy. There are a lot of them in the world.
But I have the Rocket App
My take on this is like how much do they make if they can afford to waste that much money?
Seriously???
Okay, I am on disability. I am constantly checking and budgeting every cent until Lincoln’s beard falls off. Ufda.
