Energy insecurity: Soaring oil and gas prices across Europe

European gas prices are soaring as conflict spreads through the Middle East. Qatar is among the countries to slow production—impacting global supply. These developments are reigniting the debate about whether cheaper Russian energy should be allowed in Europe.

    1. This attack by the US and Israel on Iran is a blatant violation of the independence and sovereignty of a UN member state; it also violates the UN Charter and international law. This is an utterly unprovoked act.

They justify it as a preemptive strike. But in reality, Iran has never threatened to attack the US or Israel, so what justification is there for a preemptive strike? Or they claim it's to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons…

This is even more absurd given the significant progress made in the recent nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US in Geneva. Even the Omani Foreign Minister, Badr Albusaidi, who mediated between the US and Iran on the nuclear issue in Geneva, declared after the third round of talks that unprecedented and significant progress had never been made.

Even during his meeting with US Vice President J.D. Vance, Mr. Vance himself… Vance also acknowledged that the Geneva talks had yielded very positive results. Both sides showed goodwill and cooperation, and agreed to hold a fourth round of talks – which was supposed to take place this week. They exchanged drafts of the final agreement and are now awaiting approval from their respective governments.

Given this situation, I believe that the Israeli and American attack was completely unprovoked, undermining all diplomatic efforts. The Israeli and American attack was a reckless military act with no basis whatsoever against Iran.

    2. I drive a Volkswagen Golf in Texas and it costs me just under $30 to fill up my car at $2.49 a gallon, if I go by the prices on the thumbnail then at £1.85 a liter it would cost me $97.50 to fill up the same car.

    3. God want war against Israel is continue so push Israel and USA to kill Khamenei will continue war against Israel until destruction of Israel has come and fulfilled.

    4. Although I do appreciate the credible coverage that Al Jazeera provides since the US and Israel internationally illegal attacks against Iran I’ve noticed a subtle bias in the reporting for the US and Israel and their allies. Is this intentional ? Or is Al Jazeera restructuring its format? Please reply to my observation because I am supremely confident that I am not imagining this bias reporting . The title of this episode is actually evidence that I’m not imagining this.
