The Golden Email! A lot of worry for nothing

I received notification from my servicer- loans forgiven effective 12/31/2025! No tax liability. I don’t understand why the first communication couldn’t have stated that. All the same I’m grateful. 25 years of payments, shelling out far more than I ever borrowed, only to end with a 6-figure debt to be forgiven. It’s a nonsense system and I’m so glad to be out of it.
